Classic Caramel Sauce
This Homemade Classic Caramel Sauce is so easy to make, it takes only 10 minutes and all you need is 4 ingredients. Use it to top ice cream, pancakes, any dessert or fruit or add it to your morning coffee.
3 Tablespoons water
1 cup granulated sugar
2 Teaspoons lemon juice
⅔ cup double cream
2 Tablespoons unsalted butter
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, place the water, lemon juice and sugar. Bring to a boil without any staring, until the sugar turns to light golden color, about 5 minutes.
Remove the pan from the heat, stir in the double cream and butter, watching out for the steam and bubbling.
Once the bubbling disappears, add in the vanilla extract and sit aside to cool down.
Keep refrigerated potatoes in an airtight jar, and use to drizzle ice cream, pancakes or fruits.
